Nokia 'sliding' mobile phones have been few and far between over the last few years - they've also been a bit 'hit & miss' too. However, all of this is about to change with 3 new 'sliders' from Nokia - this one being the 6111 model.
Initial impressions are good, the 6111 has a nice clean look and feel to it & the features are aplenty, with bluetooth, Mega-pixel camera etc.
The display, although not huge is a perfectly clear 128x160 pixel TFT 265K affair, hence gaming and day-to-day use is a pleasure. The keys are well laid out to, no radical stuff here from Nokia, unlike some previous aggravating designs witnessed before such as the 7260 etc. Dimensions and weight are kept to a minimum too, at 84 x 47 x 23 mm and 92 grams respectivley. The Nokia 6111 certainly excels here, by having such a high specification in such a small framework.
Running on an upgraded version of the series 40 operating system the 6111 features a WAP browser, email client and support for instant messaging. In addition, it supports Java for games and MP3 and MIDI polyphonic ringtones. Push-to-talk technology is supported and also support for Nokia's Visual Radio function with an integrated FM receiver too.
